In an emergency, you need to be aware of the special needs of pediatrics (infants and children), geriatrics (the elderly), and individuals with disabilities and existing medical conditions. These patients can exhibit mental and physical functioning much different than that of an adult patient. These differences should be taken into consideration when giving first aid care to members of these groups.
