Environmental Emergencies

Environmental emergencies refer to illnesses, injuries, and other conditions caused by aspects of the various environments in which human beings work, play, and live. They can occur at home or work, but they are more likely to occur while camping, hiking, or other outdoor activities for which you may not be adequately prepared.

Preventing Environmental Emergencies

Many environmental emergencies can be prevented by considering the hazards or dangers that may be encountered and by planning for a possible delay in medical assistance. To adequately prepare for any trip, you must become familiar with that environment and the situations and circumstances you are most likely to come across.
