American Red Cross Lifeguarding Instructor

The Lifeguarding Instructor (LGI) course enables you to teach American Red Cross lifeguarding, first aid/CPR (including, with a brief orientation, Title 22 First Aid), and water safety courses.

PREREQUISITES: Be at least 17 years old; hold current (or expired no longer than 1 year) American Red Cross Lifeguarding/First Aid and CPR/AED for Lifeguards certificates; be able to challenge ARC Lifeguarding swimming, rescue, first aid, CPR, and AED knowledge and skills; and hold a current ARC FIT certificate (or sign up for FIT with LGI).
 
REQUIRED MATERIALS: Each participant must have the ARC Lifeguarding Instructor Manual (soft copy included in course fee; hard copy extra), the ARC Lifeguarding textbook (soft copy also supplied), and a resuscitation mask. Hard copies of manuals and the resuscitation can be ordered; they are also available for purchase at your local Red Cross chapter.
